I have a guy who’s very interested in the truck. Wants to trade me this 66 Dart for it:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Link in reply in case of Kinja.
Update: After chatting with the owner more and “booking” the car, I told him he would need around $4k to boot for me to do it. He politely declined. So no custom Dart for me.

I'd be into it if it wasn't for the paint job.

I kind of like it. Swap out the wheels for something a bit more appropriate, and cruise it. A warmed over slant 6 is definteily more interesting at a car show than another small block V8.

Strange as it is, I really kinda like it.....

Kinda my thought as well. I would get it for a cruiser anyway, so a V8 isn’t necessary.

I dunno. I’d have to factor in the cost to get at least the exterior to stock. Also, air shocks? Not feeling that.

I like the paint actually. Air shocks aren’t bad depending on how they were done.
The wheels are really the only thing I don’t care for.

Lol, I like the Dart because it’s different. Probably why I kinda enjoy the paint as well.

It's really not worth 9k in my mind, I don't care what he spent on the paint.

I was thinking around $6500 the way it sits.
It’s cool (IMO) and value on these has been coming up. I do think $9k is too much though.

There’s something to be said for not getting someone else’s project but there’s also something to be said for how cool that car is.

I...don’t hate it? I don’t know what that says about me. I mean, I wouldn’t pay that much for it but it’s kind of funky cool. Of course I’m old enough to remember putting air shocks on to get that cool “rake”.

That greasy dust color doesn’t photograph well. Going to have to take your word the exterior comes off better in person.

Do it if you can get enough cash to replace the wheels on top of the car for your truck, so maybe the Dart + $1k for your truck.

Not bad. Not a fan of the custom paint but the car looks clean.
However, I’d be a bit concerned about wheel fitment. I don’t know if that chassis can swallow up 255 wide tires up front and back. The air shocks may be an indicator that the rears rub.

I had a ‘67, bullet proof for the most part except the frames are prone to rust. I had the frame welded four times.

I look at it this way. Any used car is someone else’s project. ;)

Fair point. Every car is a project in some way but I was specifically saying cars with a lot of custom work might not be the best idea.

Joking aside, I knew what you were getting at.

I think air shocked are not a great idea anyway. The mounts aren't designed to carry a load. My principal nderstanding...

6.0 Powerstroke. Been gone through and bulletproofed.
A truck like this is what you end up with when you have 3 kids and need a long bed.

I wound up with a GMC Safari. In fact, I'm going to go buy some plywood with it on Friday.
